Have you ever wanted to take a peek inside your arteries? With Citizens new 64-slice CT scanner, we’ll take a look for you — non-invasively and without pain. The calcium build up score you receive can help evaluate your risk for heart disease. And that’s only the beginning of a long list of advanced diagnostics now available through our acquisition of a new CT system, the LightSpeed VCT from GE Healthcare.
In a single rotation, the LightSpeed VCT creates 64 high-resolution anatomical images as thin as a credit card. These images are combined to form a three-dimensional view of the patient=s anatomy which permits earlier diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, neoplasms, and other disease processes. LightSpeed VCT, the world=s first volume CT (VCT) system, captures images of a beating heart in five heartbeats, an organ in one second, and performs whole body trauma in ten seconds. This speed is especially helpful in shortening breath holds for geriatric patients, patients who are on ventilators, and pediatric patients.

This is the most powerful multi-slice scanner available today and will complement our current 16-slice GE LightSpeed Pro scanner.
